Hi, I am thinking of upgrading my Acer desktop, these are the specs:
-CPU: Intel Core 15-3450 3.10GHz, 4 cores, 4 logical processors
-Mother Board: Acer Predator G3620
-RAM: 8.00GB Dual Channel DDR3 @ 665MHz
-GPU: 1535MB NVIDIA GeForce GT 645
-PSU: FSP Non-modular 500W Power Supply (Bronze 80 Plus Certified)

I want to be able to play AAA titles such as SW Battlefront and Gta V, as well as upcoming games (battlefield 1, skyrim remaster, ect) on a high, if not ultra, settings.
I was wondering if this would be possible by just upgrading the GPU, if so could you give some recommendations i.e which GPU would work best? If not what else would i need to upgrade, and again any recommendations would be appreciated.
I have never built/upgraded a pc befpre so i have very little knowledge, so feel free to explain it to me like im a four year old, thank you.

Ok thank you, will this definitely be compatible with my current components (MOBO, PSU etc), or will have have to buy new ones?

You need to make sure that before you upgrade your system, you get into the BIOS screen and change some settings. Acer has locked their motherboards, which means that any other GPU than the OEM one will not have an outgoing signal, thus not displaying anything. I believe you need to be on Windows 8/8.1/10 to be able to do this, though.

When you restart your Predator, click the DEL key to enter the BIOS menu. In the 'Boot Options' tab, you need to change the setting called 'Launch CSM' to 'Always'. After that, you'll need to go to the 'Authentication' tab and set the 'Secure Boot' option to 'Disabled'. Accept these settings and exit the BIOS menu, then shut down the PC/ These two settings should do the trick and make the Acer motherboard accept any other GPU than the one it came with. Now you'll be able to yank the 645 out and swap in your new GPU! You'll probably need to undo some zip ties to get the PEG connectors into the new GPU. When it's all done, you're ready to enjoy your new gaming rig!

Just a side note: I believe the 500W PSU in this system can not be upgraded because Acer decided to use a unique connector from the PSU to the motherboard. The newest 750W PSU used in the new Predator G6 might be the only option to upgrade it, will you ever feel the need to.

OK thank you very much for the detailed info! I'll be ordering a card within the next two weeks, so I'll report back with my result!

Hi again, I haven't ordered my new card yet, but thought I'd make the changes in bios now, just to get it out of the way.

Anyway, my pc was running windows 7, so I upgraded to 10 last night. Today I entered bios, but was unable to find the 'launch csm' setting under the boot options. I also had a look for the authentication tab, but that was not there either, any help with this would be appreciated, thanks.
