Hi I recently upgraded my CPU and GPU from an old office computer of mine in an attempt to make it at least able to run low end games, both components work fine, thing is the PC in question has Windows XP installed, I can boot into the system no problem and work with it fine, my issue is that for some reason whenever I try to install WIndows 7 or 10 (tried both) the computer either shuts down as soon as the windows logo is about to dissappear or a few seconds after it does. I have checked all connections and they are fine, there is no debris/screws anywhere and the CPU heatsink doesn't feel that hot. Does someone know what is happening?
Motherboard: ECS Geforce 6100PM-M2 (V.2.0)
CPU: AMD Phenom X4 9750b (AM2+)
RAM: 2 GB
GPU: MSI Geforce GT 710
PSU: iMicro PS-400 (400w)

I find computers with such an issue respond best with an original windows install disc. If you are using an original disc try removing the cmos battery and or use jumper to reset motherboard back to factory defaults.

What is a jumper? I already removed the cmos battery and waited a couple of minutes, doesn't work, for some reason it does boot from windows xp, although sometimes it doesn't and has the same issues like with the 7 and 10, I do not know what else could be the problem, any ideas?

If you can find your motherboard manual you can quickly find the cmos jumper that will hard reset, in some cases depending on bios used it may be called maintenance mode. Some people will use a screw driver and carefully "short" the two prongs mentioned in the motherboard manual, however most motherboard will have JUMPER CAP placed near the CLR CMOS area on the board. Note its not always called the cmos clr, depending on the mood of the manufacturer at the time but it will be somewhere.
