I am getting 100% CPU usage in witcher 3 with my i5 4590 at 3.6Ghz turbo clock. The GTX 1070 is at 99%-100% as well. Sticks to 99 for the ,most part. I am guessing i have a bottleneck. Do i upgrade?
If your getting 99% GPU usage your CPU is not bottlenecking, maybe witcher is just using a lot of CPU?
Yeah im not sure... Im kinda dissapointed . i was told my i5 4590 wouldnt bottleneck.
from what i heard, the witcher(similar to fallout) can be cpu heavy at times. but if your gpu is at 99-100% then dont worry about it.
Oh, i see , thanks bit weird tho. Maybe i should just upgrade my CPU to a i7 4770?
If your gpu wasn't running at or near 100% because your CPU was maxed out then you might have seen a benefit but jumping to an i7 is unlikely to give you any meaningful benefit, it might even give you none. You might see your CPU usage with an i7 drop but your gpu wont be able to do any more work than before...
If the gpu is running at 99% then there is no bottleneck. Witcher 3 is very cpu heavy and one of the few games that can benefit from an i7. I really wouldn't worry about it if your getting enough fps

An upgrade to a 4770 seems really pointless unless you are suffering a sizeable bottleneck. Don't get hung up on the term bottleneck, every pc has one.
