Just a note, I've been dealing with this problem for 6+ months now and I really need help or need to be directed to another forum that might be able to resolve this issue.

Hi,

The past few months I've been experiencing a strange problem with the wireless card/Internet. The ISP and router was changed a few months back and I started to experience connectivity issues like increased lag spikes, drops, and failures to connect.

I replaced the wireless card with a new one and things seemed to improve except for this problem where half the time I turn on the computer, the wireless can not detect the router so I go to reset the router and then everything seems to go back to normal.

This has been going on for a few months. A few weeks ago I went to update a graphics driver and immediately afterward the computer could not detect the wireless card at all. When I floated over the network settings, it would say that there was no network found. I tried shutting down and rebooting, restarting router, and diagnosing problem through windows and nothing works. I checked online and I checked in some device setting area where I could see that the computer did detect that card as plugged in. I read that I could try a system restore back a few days. I did it and it worked.

A few weeks later my computer automatically downloads some windows update. The day after the update, the wireless is fine (with the usual reset of the router) but then this morning it went back to the problem of not even being able to detect it. I haven't restored it yet but it seems the problem wasn't resolved from the first time. Could someone give me some suggestions to solve the problem?

I resorted a month or two ago to buying a wireless USB adapter. This has helped because now I can connect to the Internet. However on a daily basis in order to get it to work I have to reset the router usually by unplugging the power and restarting it. This allows the Internet to function usually for the rest of the evening but sometimes I have to do it multiple times in one evening. The wireless card is still in the computer but I don't think it works. What do you guys recommend that I do?

Update* At least several weeks ago I tried disconnecting the wireless card to just use the USB connection. Same problems still exists. I have already made sure I have the most current drivers as updated for going through the connection properties and having it search for the most updated drivers. I have also checked for any viruses and no luck.

I would look at the router. It seems like it can't hold a connection or renew your DHCP lease.

What is the make model of the router? I would look also for updated firmware and try to update it to the latest. Who knows, the manufacturer could have fixed these problems with a firmware update. It wouldn't be unusual for a router to be sold with old or outdated firmware on it.

No. I maximized every single option in there just now and I don't see anything. I will say that earlier today I did disable my "Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller" and left my "TP-Link Wireless Adapter #2" enabled. Before I disabled it it did not have any red or yellow marks. I disabled it because I only have the wireless USB connected.

Hello... I understand about disable... good to know and use B )

Let's see what the OS is reporting as the error... Right click computer-manage-Windows logs-system.... Click on the "RED" errors, for more information... and files/drivers/Apps, comments/suggestions/information associated with them B )

Posting screen images from here will help me, help you faster... But copy and posting text will work too B )
