So I used to have a amd 4130 quad core cpu installed but yesterday I put my new amd 8 core cpu in my rig. When I look on my amd manager and task manager its showing my old one and all of its specs. Does this mean that its only using 4 of my 8 cores? Also how do I fix this and open up all of my 8 cores.

Take the cpu out. Try to start the system without the cpu. It should beep or something.

Turn the power supply back off. Reinstall the cpu and cooler. The board should reset the cpu.

(The 8 core will actually work as a 4 core 4130 because it does have a 4130 in it, (two of them actually).

I had this issue when swapping from a single core athlon64 to X2 a few times. Of course the X2 will work on one core.

Make sure you didn't mix the cpus up, i did that once. Go look at your old fx-4130, if it's the 8 core that is what happened.
