Hi guys.

Looking to fit within my budget of $600. I don't overclock as I don't have much time.

I'm mainly going to be using the PC for

- tons of excel spreadsheets
- I will be using two monitors , maybe even three so I will have some live streams running on one, while the others will have tons of Firefox and Chrome tabs which tend to take up around 4-6 gigs, and some other software like a stock trading platform, excel, skype, anki etc etc which can take up a couple of more gigs
(my current laptop which has 8 gigs of ram but my ram is always around 70-90% usage and I don't know if that is the reason
Firefox, Skype etc keeping crashing)
-I will also want to stream (mainly kickstarted/independent rpgs , visual novels and emulators, and plan to get into strategy games like Age of Wonders, Heroes of Might and Magic etc)

My current laptop is HP Pavilion dv7 (Intel i7-3610QM, Geforce 650 M with 8 gigs of ram) but for some reason chrome and firefox and a few apps eat up about 80-90 of my ram and a lot of apps keep crashing. I don't know if there is faulty ram, but I really want to get quality ram for my new build.

Here is what I have so far:

RAM = I don't know if the ram I picked is of good quality
Case = I hoping for a nice spacious and quiet case with a few UBS 3 ports in the front.
How is the case I picked? Should I spend a little more for a better case?
Motherboard = the one i picked is an mini Itx. Does that matter? Is this a good motherboard?
I picked it because it has the M2 slots which could be useful in the future when M2 hardrives come down in price
CPU = I have a microcenter nearby so there CPU's are discounted. Is this CPU overkill?

Graphics card = I have no idea. Is there something I can pick cheap $100 (but stable) to play some strategy games? I prefer Nvidia. I can also wait and pick up something for sale later down the road if needed.

Thanks!

I take user reviews with a huge grain of salt. If we went by user reviews, we would all be running Raidmax and Thermaltake TR2's, which are junk quality. Many so called knowledgeable people, don't know as much as they think. As with anything electronic, there is the potential for failure.

I'd go with these parts. It's pointless to go with a ATX case and Mini-ITX motherboard. You said you prefer Nvidia, but the Geforce 750Ti is too old and the 2GB Geforce 950 costs more than the 4GB R7-370 would cost. With the 4GB of memory it will help with multiple monitors.

Thanks!
Is the sandisk hardrive better than the mushkin one? I feel like I've had bad experiences with sandisk in the past, but I'm not 100% sure.

As for graphics cards, would the Geforce 950 be a better card for me if I could find it on sale? I'm not in a rush for GC at the moment.
My main concern with Radeon cards is since the company has been hit hard the past few years (market capitalization is down quite a bit), I'm a little worried about how frequent their updates are as well as general compatibility with games and software , customer service reliability , stability and build of their cards and lastly how user friendly the graphical card software + interface. If my concerns are overblown then I will have no problem with purchasing the card.

Thank you so much for you input!

The 370 is actually older than a GTX 750ti. It is another pitcairn rebadge, which AMD originally released 4yrs ago.

You're welcome.. The Mushkin drive is fine also. I use Sandisk in my builds, never had a problem with them. I just thought it was out of stock because the price didn't show up earlier. The GTX 950 would be the best choice if you can find it for around $100. Personally I like the EVGA brand.

It seems the motherboard is not on sale anymore.
Do you have another suggestion for a motherboard?

Thanks.

EDIT: I found this motherboard, for a decent price:

What do you think?

For the price and features you get that's a pretty decent board.

I switched the ram and the PSU for a couple of reasons.
The ram because, most of the parts are coming from newegg, so I figured it would be easier to aggregate my order from one vendor. I've never order from the other vendor before, so I was unsure of their customer service. The ram I choose from newegg is the same price and also has good feedback.

I switched the PSU because the rebate was $30. I've read numerous complaints about how hard it's to get your rebate from some of these hardware manufacturers.
Are my choices still okay? I feel okay to pull the trigger but I just wanted to make sure the ram is compatible.

I will look for a graphics card this week and if something the card you recommended comes on sale I will snag it.

Thank you so much for your help.

Thanks, I will make the switch then.

EDIT: I was looking at the reviews of the antec built, and there seems to be a lot of complaints of dying withing a couple of years or something about the coil whining? Should I be worrried?

Thank you so much for your help.
