over clocking my fx4300

quick question over clocked my fx4300 been runing prime for over an hour n seems stable so far but cpu z is showing the ghz diping down by small amount is this normal never over clocked before so unsure
hardware is as fallows
gigabyte 970 motherboard
fx 4300
gtx 960 4gb oc
psu 800w modular

Possible VRM throttling. If that's the case, it means that you're reaching the thermal limits of your cooling for your motherboard. Do the VRMs on your motherboard have heatsinks or a fan blowing over them? It's not a "terrible, ohnoes!" thing, it just means that under prolonged heavy load, your PC will eventually throttle slightly to stay stable. As long as the core isn't failing (Prime says that it failed and the worker thread stopped), you're ok.

past prime for three hours no erors or that n yeah motherboard has heat sinks n that wouldnt have tried it otherwise i only oc to 4.4 ghz temps seem fine n it was only dip down to about 4 ish for like a second meaby evn les then bouncing back up some times wasnt even going as low as 4 ghz
