Do not use spaces to align your right tab. With the Home tab selected then on the ribbon bar go to the paragraph section on the ribbon bar. In the lower right corner to the right of where it says paragraph there will be a small selector that will produce a dialog box for paragraph settings when you click it. In that dialog at the bottom left is a tabs button, click that. From there you will be able to select a right aligned tab and also be able to specify the . . . . to proceed the page number. You might want to do a tutorial on Word. With the correct paragraph and style formatting it is possible to have Word automatically generate a Table of Contents (TOC) just like you are trying to do. The advantage of that method is when you add or delete text and it moves the page references in your TOC you can regenerate and it will fix the page references in your TOC.
