Hello,

I am planning to buy a corsair h110. Would it be ok to use only 2 fans on the radiator, rather than 4 fans? What is the benefit of using 2 extra fans?

Any response is much appreciated.

Solution
Most times people only run it with two fans (I do). Adding the 2 extra fans helps only marginally. It is generally not worth the extra price for the two fans, the extra space, and the extra noise.

Thanks for the info.

I was also thinking about buying 2 noctua 140mm pwm fans to replace the included fans. Is this a good idea or do you think the stock fans are good and/or silent enough?

One of the fans on my h110i died, so I decided to replace them with these https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CP6QLY6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1, and I was pretty disappointed. At full blast they're quite loud, and at about 900 rpms (where they are silent) cpu temps are a few degrees higher than they were with the stock fans at their highest silent speed.

They're not bad, but they're not any better than the fans that came on the h110, and they're certainly not worth $20+ apiece. My temps on a 4790k at 4.4ghz were high 20s at idle and mid 50s under stress test load with the stock fans on silent. I personally would not replace the fans unless there is something wrong with them.
