What size battery backup will I need for this

A whole house battery wouldn't take up a room, just a nice chunk of the basement or garage. (when you start looking at the big UPS, whole house batteries start looking reasonable)

Depends on if the goal is system protection or runtime. Enough time to shut down and save your work or to hold out a few minutes in the hope the power will come back on.

I have a 1000va and it won't work it says over load and starts chiming when I have only the computer plugged in also is there a way to have it shut down the computer once the power goes out if I'm not there and it's doing video rendering

APC has software called Power Chute that can send the command to hibernate the system. Not sure how that would effect your running tasks.

I was looking at APCs 1000VA a minute ago, looks like it only offers a 685W max output. You will have to go bigger, the 1500VA unit was borderline.

Mine is a cyber power and it's a 530watt and I like the generator idea maybe that will be my next budget plan I would like it to at least 10-30min just to fin what ever I'm doing and shut down and remember if gaming there porbbly won't be Internet even if the modem and router are on the backup so gaming you'll probably get disconnect... If someone knows pleas tell
