Gt 710 just came in today... Popped open my Inspiron 570 and removed the pcie slot cover. It seems like the ports on the card are off centered, and I won't be able to screw in the bracket unless I bend the card a bit, which I'm afraid to try. Or should I line up the bracket first, then put the card in? Also, what are the short brackets for? They included a small one with VGA port cutout, and one with both DVI and HDMI port cutouts. I'm a noob with working on PCs. My hardware experience consists of dusting a couple of computers out, installing new ram, installing new HDD. All help is very much appreciated! Thanks!!

UPDATE: Still can't get it to fit, and I added pictures.

Solution
It really should be compatible. It's a half-length and half-height PCIe card in a PCIe slot, and you have the right (full-height) bracket on it. Not entirely sure why it's angled away from the back panel like that, but it looks like the card might not be pushed fully into the slot. See if you can get it deeper into the slot, especially the end closer to the back of the case.
Well, you should line up the bracket before sliding the card into the PCIe slot. But maybe it would be easier to check what's going on if you could post some pictures.

As for the shorter bracket, sounds like it's for cases that use half-height expansion cards and slots. The GT 710 is a half-height card, but comes with a full-height bracket by default, to fit normal ATX cases.

I will try again when I get home, and if I still can't get it, I will post pictures. But, if I slide the bracket into its place before putting in the card, it should fit without the need for any bending or flexing.

I ended up unscrewing the cards I/o then putting that in first, then putting the card in. Finally, I screwed the I/o back in and it fits perfectly

With my Pc case, it was one of those things that doesn't want to fit, but once it's I'm properly, it fits just fine. No bending or anything. Also, VERY happy with the EVGA Gt710. I can get high fps on max settings for my games, and even play 4k YouTube videos. I also overclocked it which raised it's benchmark score about 20%
