Huge FPS drops in games even at lowest settings and resolution

Hello there, I have this problem with HUGE FPS drops in games like GTA V, Crysis, DayZ, CSGO, PAYDAY 2 for example. The worst part of it is that it happens on all graphical and resolution settings or in GTA V, some textures are loading slowly an sometimes they don't even load.

Here are my hardware specs:
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2,4 GHz (tried OC to 3,2 GHz but didn't add much performance)
GPU: GTX 750 Ti 2 GB VRAM
RAM: 4x1 GB Dual-Channel DDR2 (5-6-6-18) at 800 MHz from Trascend
MOBO: Gigabyte P35-DS3L
PSU: Forton FSP400-PNF 400 W
HDD: Seagate ST1000LM014 (Took it from my older Lenovo laptop, usually laptop drivers are not really fast)

I have all drivers up to date, I did updat my BIOS to the newest version and also tried overclocking CPU, GPU, RAM but that didn't help at all. I ran MemTest via USB drive and RAM modules are completely fine.

Task manager says that my HDD is usually at 100% workload and RAM usage is almost at 3,6 GB in most games.
Could faster drive help, or even SSD? I can get up to 8 GB of DDR2 ram at 1066 MHz with this motherboard but I am not sure, when I have FPS drops even older game like Crysis wich should be fine with 4 GB of RAM.

Sorry for my horrible english, I hope you didn't suffer too much.

Hmmmm, that is strange. The fact you said that your HDD is at 100% workload does suggest it is struggling to keep up with everything else. It can't write fast enough. I'm not really sure, all I can really suggest is SSD which is very inexpensive. Sorry. How much RAM is the game using on average while gaming?

Hi there, I have experienced this before. You get large freezes in your game because you HDD is too slow. It can't keep up because they are not that great for gaming. One good idea I would suggest is getting some SSD and hopefully this should improve your performance. I'm not 100% about this but pretty sure. Oh and finally, DDDR 3 Ram is better than 2 so in your next build get that. Not much need to buy it now you have DDR2

That's weird, I had this HDD in my laptop before and Crysis was running fine without any FPS drops (cheaper office laptop)
Like really right know I have like 90 FPS and sometimes it drops to like 5 FPS for few seconds.

Mostly arround 3,6 GB.
Here I provided benchmark results of my HDD: http://prntscr.com/bhain2

Yes but my motherboards supports only DDR2 and this is my second rig so I don't want to spend to much cash on it.

Actually one last suggestion. It could be your internet. I recommend doing a speed test(there are plenty of apps for this) and telling me what your download speed is in Mbps and your ms. Thanks,

So these are my ideas: 1) It could be your internet connection if you are playing online. I suggest running a speed test to check the download speed in Mbps and also the ms. The other idea I had may sound a bit far fetched but it's all I can think of. It could be you CPU throttling. This means when it gets too hot when the thermal margin hits zero, when it throttles it lowers its frequency and voltage to try and cool down. I might be this I'm not sure. I use a program called AMD overdrive to check the thermal margin so you could try that whilst in gameplay and say what the thermal margin is when it freezes. But only do that at your own risk. Before you try that, can you tell me what your CPU cooler is? Thanks/b]
