ive restarted my computer recently and all that i got was a black screen with the mouse in the center. i have tryed starting in safe mode and even then it dosent work

Computer is actually lagging to a ridiculousness level and while doing so it studders at start up which explains why it is so slow

Solution
i fixed the problem a few days ago, it as the harddrive. i turned off the computer, unplugged the harddrive from the computer, restarted it then turned it off again and plugged the harddrive back into the computer and it stopped lagging my computer to death and it hasent happened since

This happened to me today when I was cleaning my PC's interior. The problem with the black screen and visible mouse is, that if you have more than 1 screen connected, it can be scrambled if you don't put the plugs of screens in right places as they were before. Basically your PC works fine, you just need to find on which screen (monitor) Login is located.

About lags... could be dust, bad contact, hardware failure...
