Busted CPU/GPU temp sensors?

Recently, i noticed that my CPU and GPU are constantly showing temperatures of between 87-91 degrees celcius (180s-190s fahrenheit) but only when i play a game. when i am browsing the internet, even on very cpu and gpu intensive sites, my laptop caps out around 66 C (150ish F). however, the moment i launch any game, even before i get to the menu, literally seconds after the game opens, it's back up to 80s-90s with no warning, and immediately drops back to the 60s upon quitting. I have a i7-4500U cpu and a Nvidia GT 745m, in an Asus Q550lf. is the sensor faulty, or do i have to reapply thermal paste or something? i'm asking because the heatsink is basically welded into the motherboard, and is practically impossible to remove.

EDIT: forgot to mention, if you actually feel the cpu, gpu, heatsink, or the metal/general area around it, it doesn't feel that warm. maybe 70-80 degrees at the most, but still not close to the amount it reads.

It's not a sensor problem. Those temps seem real.
It does not surprise me. Laptops are much more crowded than desktops, and thus the thermal design is also higher. The maximum temp or Tjunstion is 100C. Thus it can safely go to 100C before shutting down to prevent damage. The temperatures aren't very good, but are okay and safe.

As fo trying to clear the temps. Add a laptop cooling pad or clear the bottom of obstructions. Also you might want to dust it. Repaste it if you can. Don't go ripping stuff out though.

the fan is in the back, and i regularly use a can of compressed air to clean dust. i heard that using the can wrong can cause the fan to stop working, but it seems to be working fine. also, the main problem is, it immediately starts to throttle, making any sort of gaming practically impossible. like i said, the part that bothers me is how it jumps 20-30 degrees F within seconds of launching, no matter how low end the game is.
