I have recently bought Rocket League on PC, after I had been playing on PS4 for a number of months. Since I started playing on PC I have noticed large lag spikes every few seconds. At first I thought it might be a problem with other devices using too much bandwidth, however after removing all devices connected to the Wifi and leaving the PC as the only device connected, the lag spikes still appeared.

To see if the problem only affected my PC I went and tested my PS4 by playing Rocket League as well. No lag spikes were present even with all the devices in the house connected. So I can only assume that the problem is only present between my PC and the router. Both the PS4 and the PC are in the same room, basically beside each other.

Where should I start looking to find the problem?

Solution
Those tiny USB adapters are meant to be used on portable equipment not really desktops. They have tiny antenna and they do not put out full power in order to save the battery. In addition you put it really close to the case which blocks a lot of signals.

Try to use a USB extension cable to move the adapter away from the computer case.
