Wired Internet is not working, wireless is.

Okay so recently we had a bad storm and the power went off and on about 4 times, I have a surge protector also so that shouldn't be a factor. Now to the problem, I have read countless forums about this problem yet everyone is wrong. Now, my modem is from time warner cable and the brand name is arris, all the lights are working and yet no ethernet connection is working, but yet the wireless shows on my computer ready to connect (I don't know the password so I can't use it) now I also run my internet through a netgear router which all the lights are on but are almost all orange, factory reset doesn't even work. So is this a problem with my isp? Is my router broke? I have tried all the basics, turning off and on. "Trying" to reset. Nothing is working. So what's the deal?

Call your ISP and have them check things from their end.

Inspect as much of the ISP related wiring and your own network wiring as you safely can - look for damage, loose connectors, burn marks, corrosion, etc.

Could be some damage to the electrical circuits. Or something happened to the Arris - power surge damage perhaps. (Surge Protectors can only do so much and damage is cumulative - at some point they no longer can do the job....)

Reset everything and start over but with only one device at a time. And if things do not work keep calling your ISP and consider an electrical inspection - especially if any other electrical devices are not working as they should be.
