So I have just upgraded to gigabit internet and am a bit unfamiliar with how to utilize I have the modem that AT&T gave me and an apple airport extreme router. The trouble I'm having is that there are 3 wifi networks all set up in my house right now. One is the same network I was using before the switch but has lower speeds. There are also 2 separate networks, one 2.4 GHz and one 5GHz. Are these run from the modem and don't use my apple router or airport expresses?
When I connect via ethernet to my apple router from my pc i get the expected speeds up to 950Mbps but when I connect via wifi from my laptop I get around 30Mbps up and down. What can I do to fix this? are there settings for my router I need to change? thanks
Note: I am looking at the router settings page and I don't see the option to use 802.11ac wireless connection. The router should be capable of using this and I can't get my optimal speeds otherwise.
