i am new to WOL and am trying to set it up, have windows 10 so i disabled the "turn on fast" option and have gone into bios to enable the Power on PCIE. But whenever my computer shuts down it automatically powers back up. As if a constant signal is being sent. This is the first time i try to set this up and dont know much about networking. Anyone with knowledge on this matter please help me out.

I assume you're using the onboard lan connection and not a lan card.
You did not specify what motherboard you are using.
You need to enable Wake On Lan in the bios, not just Power on PCIE.

Have you tried googling "enable wake on lan for xx motherboard" ?

I have the Asus z97-ar motherboard. I looked up a few guides and that was the option suggested for wake on lan option. There were no other options within the bios settings that indicated wake on lan.

So are u saying when you SHUTDOWN the computer, all it's doing is a RESET?

If this is the case, I bet it has nothing to do with WOL, you can verify by momentarily unplug CAT cable and shut it down that way.

Is this a new build? did it EVER worked correctly? Have you changed the power supply or other hardware recently?

This is a 1 year old build, it works fine it's just that I've been trying to set up a wol. If I turn off the bios settings it works. If I turn on the fast start up option on Windows 10 it works. It's only when I enable wol on bios and turn off that Windows 10 fast start up option that instead of shutting down the computer restarts. Anyone know what the issue could be cause I would like to set up a wake on lan
