So I'm building a new system and I'm over my original budget (like always) so I was thinking of replacing the i5 4690k with the i5 4590 (I wouldn't buy the 212 evo either). I will mostly use the system for gaming. So would there be any significant performance decrease. Also I think I will stay away from overclocking for now.
Thanks!

Solution
The higher difference between the 2 CPU listed are the first one is cappable to overclock and the second not.

Also, going for i5 4690 (non k), you can downgrade your motherboard (if you really dont need the SLI or other features like more USB ect) to a H* or B* series.

My first build (current one) have the i5 4690 and the R9 390 (not currently in my build), and no regrets at today, works like a charm and the games, perfect (I'm talking here playing @ 1080).

Also, want to add, if you pick the I5 4690K, you don't need the evo 212 right now. Just wait until you want to do the OC and pick it.
And add a SSD if you can affort it! Maybe the downgrade can give you some options! (At least 128gb!)
