The Pc is great here.the RX 480 releases the 29th. Grab one for 200$. Also it's r9 390 for 200$. 16GB ram and SSD. This SSD is the best budget SSD available for those people that dislike cheap SSDs. It's a great one. Good tier 2 PSU and a good quality mobo. The CPU is only 2.7 ghz but is more powerful than the i5 4460.

Yea I saced the 6500/H170 for a better SSD and better GPU.
It's what I would do.

I actually build this for a friend. He hired me to do a PC build for him.

Slightly over budget, but includes the OS which you will need. Worth a bit more for the i5 6500 I think. The MB has a PCIe x4 slot for expansion (e.g. USB 3.1, NVMe SSD) Quality PSU. I don't believe the RX 480 will really be $200 at launch.

You can do that.
Honestly he can get a Windows key only for 25$ or so.
So I mean he gets the mortar, I agree. It's a great board.
But still i5 6400. The 6500 is only what average 3% better because of the clock speed. So 3% for 20 bucks, no.
Also the SSD should go in here. Also the ram can go both 16 or 8. Prefer 16 though.

So with my build add a 25$ Windows key it isn't bad. Still cheaper. I honestly don't think the 6500 is worth the extra 20 bucks.

Yes, you can Windows cheaper, but you know it breaks the EULA, TOS agreement, or is stolen. The 6500 has a base clock 18.5% higher and the cost is 10% higher than the 6400. I imagine that there are not many places in the Microsoft lineup that you can get spend a certain percentage more and get a higher percentage increase in performance. It may not make a big difference in gaming, but I'm sure he will be using the computer for other things too. I think it is worth it, but he can decide for himself. 16 GB of RAM won't make any difference in his gaming at the present time. An SSD would be nice. Add one if you can budget it.

you could just add about $50 and wait for the rx 400 to be released at the end of the month.
