Hey Guys I'm building my first gaming Pc but I am on a budget of $800 so I need your suggestions on this system I've decided
cpu- amd fx6300 6 core 3.5 ghz
gpu- msi GeForce gtx 960 4gb
RAM- 16gb ddr3 (4x4 Kingston HyperX)
Mobo-gigabyte ga 970
1TB hdd
I'm willing to go for fx6300 cause its better in multithreading and I've read really good reviews for it but I'm also pondering over i5...so please help.

I simply cannot recommend the aging FX6300 anymore for any reason. It is completely inferior to the i3 6100 in gaming and isn't that much better in multi threaded tasks. You have to be careful which AM3+ motherboard you get with it too because most of them are not very good.

You should probably start with 8GB RAM for budget purposes.

The 4GB GTX960 is often overpriced. Compare it's cost to the 4GB R9 380 which is better and usually cheaper and also the 2GB 960 which is about the same but usually much cheaper.

Which country are you in?

part selection so far is not too bad. i'd recommend buying atleast an i3 over the fx series though. an i3 will match the 960 nicely.

use www.pcpartpicker.com itll make it much easier to build and select parts.

if you'd like me to make one for you:

1) What is your budget and country?
2) What will you use the machine for mostly?
2) Do you need any of the following included in that budget?
-Monitor
-Wifi Card
-CD/DVD Drive
-Mouse/Keyboard
-Operating System
-Speakers

I'm in India.. If not fx6300 I can go with an i5.. I wouldn't mind spending a few bucks more if it's gonna benefit me
