Hello... Typically going form AMD to AMD products will not need a OS Re-install... and should boot... but your hardware drivers can change if using a different MB... and installing them is needed... check your "device manager" for any red or yellow marks there.
Boot to your BIO's first and check the NEW CPU operating specs there... and if good... save&exit... and try a OS boot .

You would need not to reinstall the OS no but you might need to reinstall the video driver to support the APU..
Why would make this change? do you need the APU graphics? that 860K is a better chip imo if you are pairing it with a discrete graphics card.
