Hello! It's been a few years since I last delved into the world of PC parts, but now I'm trying to come back for an upgrade to my graphics card. I had bit of an irresponsible indulgence recently, by buying an SSC ACX 2 GTX 950 with 2 GB just cause I saw it in Best Buy and was quite tired of my lowly 1GB GTX 650. But, now with all the new releases, E3, and the VR "revolution", I think I should reassess my buy.
I'm going to sell the 650 gathering dust under my desk, the 950 I'm currently using, and some old 360 games to get a better one. An estimate for those would be $345 in total, but I'll just double down and go for a $400 max. Also, if I'm crazy enough, or my roommate chips in, I think I'll buy a Vive, or as a distant second possibility, an Oculus.
So, great PC part elders, what is the best graphics card I can get for $400 that can handle modern games at least at medium settings and might keep up with a VR headset? Thanks for your help!
