GTX 1080 drivers not installing PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

hi there i just got my founders edition gtx 1080 and i cant install the drivers because it says my windows isnt compatible....i have windows 10 and it worked perfectly with my two 970s...please help:(

Okay so first i went to guru3d and used DDU to uninstall all of my old video drivers, next is i went to this link https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10/ and hit the download now for the media creation tool. After that i installed it and selected update this PC now and followed the steps. It took about an hour and a half and for me it installed everything including the drivers for the 1080...let me know if you have any more questions.

do i need to install the latest updates once windows 10 is done is installed

The latest updates for the GPU? If so then maybe just check Nvidia Geforce Experience if you have an Nvidia card but they should install automatically

figured out what was wrong its because i just made my computer like just 2 days ago lol but you need to have the latest version of windows at the time for windows 10 it is any version above or version 1511
