Wii Remotes for VR?

Hi,
I recently got a VR headset for my phone, with the intention of using Trinus VR to play PC vr games on it. I found Valve's "the lab" on steam, which looks like an amazing VR demo. The problem is that it appears to require the HTC Vive's controllers to work properly, as you handle objects in the VR world.

Is there any way to use a Wii remote and/or a nunchuck (or even an xBox Kinect) to replace the Vive controllers, but still get the full VR experience?
Thanks

Short answer is no
You can connect wii remotes (they work by bluetooth) but they are not capable of the level of tracking you need. Wii remotes have an infrared cameras in them that determine where you are pointing on the screen and some basic motion tracking. This tracking is not enough to use for VR. The narrow field of view limits its usefulness for full range of motion. This is why the all the VR sets use external cameras for tracking.
