I don't seem to have any network being picked up by my pc. I have just installed windows 7 ultimate, but it doesn't find any networks. It is a custom built pc with no wireless connector. I can hard wire it, but It doesn't pick up the network ether. i have found my hardware id pci ven_8086&dev_15a1&subsys_85c41043&rev_00 but I can't find the driver. Please help

Solution
if you have a cd rom on the pc go into the mb shipping box look for the driver cd that comes with the mb.
install the intel chipset or amd chipset drivers first then ethernet and sound drivers and mei drivers. reboot then install the gpu drivers and then reboot. go back in if there no missing devices get online let windows update itself then update the drivers. if you dont have a cd rom on the new pc use another pc to copy files to usb stick or download the drivers then copy to usb stick.

Ok you said it custom PC - then did you buy ethernet Card -- WIFI card -- if you did then you will find the driver with it

if not -- then it must be the Ethernet card is built in your mother board

go to the mother board website - search for your model of mother board - under download \ drivers you will find the ethernet driver
