I have a MSi X99A Gaming 7, and I want to know how I can plug in my stereo speakers and my headphones into my motherboard's back io. I also want to know how to play audio from my speakers and not my headphones and vice versa, that is if there is a way to have them both plugged into my motherboard's back io. Thanks.

VincentP, thanks for your input. However, when I was building my PC, I stepped on the HD audio cable and broke it :(

Right now, I've been powering my headphones through the audio jack on motherboard and my speakers through the jack on my monitor.

I wanted to know if I could plug in my headphones and my speakers into motherboard's back io.

If you use a splitter as above, both will be active at the same time.
You may be able to get a replacement part for your case for the front audio connections.
I guess using the headphone jack on the monitor, that the monitor is connected via HDMI and you have to switch audio inputs on the PC.
If your speakers do have a headphone jack or you can fix the front audio connectors, there will be no need to switch outputs.

So it turned out, with the help of logic and common sense, the audio jack male to 2 female jack y splitter would be the best solution to my problem (thanks HDMI703). I could plug in my speakers and headset to the splitters. Whenever I use the speakers, I could detatch the cable that connects to my headphone from the headset and turn on my speakers. Whenever I want to use my headset, I could turn off my speakers and connect the 3.5mm audio jack cable back to my headset.

Thanks for the answers guys. Much appreciated :)
