Hello guys!

I've looked through this forum many times for my answers but i've found very diverse answers, so now i decided to ask you guys myself.

As many others, i am interested in buying the new GTX 1070 series GPU, but my system is kind of old and if i am going to spend a good amount of money, i want to be sure i do not bottleneck the GPU and be sure to get the max performance out of the GPU, so i can run games smooth.

So my question is; Do i just upgrade my GPU to GTX 1070 or also CPU? which then means i need to upgrade MOBO, PSU, RAM DDR4?

PC specs:
Seagate Desktop HDD ST1000DM003 - 3.5? SATA-600 1TB
Kingston SSDNow V300 - 2.5? SATA-600 120GB
Kingston HyperX blu - 8GB DDR3 1600MHz PC3-12800 CL10
ASUS GTX770-DC2OC-2GD5 - 2GB
Intel Core i5 4670 / 3.4 GHz Processor - LGA1150
ASUS Z87-PRO - V Edition ATX LGA1150
Cooler Master B500 - 500W
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo
Benq 144hz monitor 24' something

case and useless to the performance?:Cooler Master N300 - ATX Midnight black
TP-LINK TL-WN781ND - Netværksadapter PCI Express x1 150Mbps
Samsung Super-WriteMaster SH-224DB - SATA Intern DVD±RW (±R DL) / DVD-RAM

Solution
with the 970 it would be 1080 ulltra on witcher with hair works off. The 480 it's unknown as of now till complete benchmarks come out but with what i've seen it's alittle bit better then the 970.

with the 1070 any settings in 1080p but going to 1440p you will suffer because of your cpu in Cpu intensive games

Games which i would like to play smoother and with higher fps is Witcher 3, Battlefield 4 and future 1, Counter Strike Global Offensive and Overwatch.

And thank you to whoever takes their time to help The Confused Me :(

edit: Will a i5 4690k or 4670k be as good as i5 6600k? To save money on a new MOBO?

Just GPU, your system is plenty strong and even going to a more expensive setup like skylake will not net you much of a performance boost. Were talking maybe 5% and only in cpu intensive situations

Thank you so much for the answer, so you are saying 1070 gtx will still be like 100% (From what ive seen in benchmarks, might have looked wrong) more power than my old 770gtx?

I am sorry if this comes off as rude :( But if i want to be more than fine? Like above average fps fine because i feel right now i feel fine but i want to feel amazed and dont comprise as much with games, where i have to go with medium settings in a game like Witcher 3.
