So i'm planning to build my own gaming pc and have a $700 budget. I began searching the internet for the best components to use in a PC with this budget as I am not very familiar with the hardware side of computers. I found this build and was wondering if it would be good specs for a gaming and productivity PC.

CPU AMD FX-8320E
MOBO Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P
GPU EVGA GTX 970
RAM Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB
HDD Seagate 1 TB
CASE Deepcool Tesseract
PSU SeaSonic S12II 620W
ODD Samsung 24x SATA
OS Windows 10

Also, Ive heard that an Intel CPU is better for productivity, is that true or am I better off sticking with the AMD FX-8320 E

Please let me know if there is anything you would suggest changing about this build.

Thanks!

Solution
An Intel CPU (I3-6100) will be better for gaming. I'd recommend Intel, a more modern chip. AMD's chips are quite old, Zen is coming out later this year (finally) to replace them.

It's not my favorite case, but it is the Shell Shocker today. Buy it today if you like it.

I think you could lower dat price by just opting for the regular $200 480.

Actually, that was an estimate for the regular RX 480. I'm assuming that like the missing $380 GTX 1070, it may be a long time before we actually see a $200 RX 480. I hate to see an upside price surprise on my builds, but if it's lower, then that will be great for the OP.

You could go with a cheaper MB to save a bit, but I like that one because it has an extra PCIe x4 slot for future expansion (e.g. USB 3.1, NVMe SSD, etc.)
