Hello I have a dsl connection and my router is a comtrend nexus link 5631. I have a issue where I can't seem to download anything or use my wifi connection on my phone to stream or anything without my router dropping the connection. When this happens nothing's works such as wifi and Ethernet. After doing that it will stop working again after about a minute and then come back up on its own but it's really annoying because i can't seem to use it especially on phones. When the connection drops, the wireless lights and adsl lights turn off on my router and after about 2 seconds the adsl lights start blinking until the wireless light comes back on again. Any suggestions on what could be the issue?

Could be a power supply (wall wart) for the router, could be an internal problem with the router, could be overheating in the router, could be a problem with your DSL provider. No definitive way to know. You would try a fan to ensure that overheating isn't the issue, but you will just have to work on eliminating possibilities.
Yea I was thinking it could possibly be my line but it has happened before but not as often as now. It started doing a lot more often ever since I upgraded my internet 3 weeks ago. Every time my router drops the connection it does feel pretty hot but I'm not sure if overheating could be the issue. Everytime the router drops the connection it almost feels like it restarts on its own.
