How can I solve my fps spikes in league of legends?

So my specs right now are as follows:
Intel I5 3570k
16 GB DDR3 RAM
AS Rock Z77 extreme 4 motherboard
Corsair GS800 power supply
Corsair H60 water cooling
Two Asus Gtx 660s running in sli
Windows 10

So when running league of legends I will have above 200fps and in certain situations I will get an fps spike where my fps reaches 20 fps and even sometimes 0, the interesting thing is that it's not always in high particle effect situations like team fights. I had the settings on the recommended one by nividia. I decided to play around see if I can find a solution so I dropped the quality down and noticed that the problem still occurs, I decided ok I'll drop it all the way to the most basic settings, still I would get this problem.

After all this I reinstall current drives and nothing changed, I was hoping it was just dodgy drivers but when the new one came out the problem persisted.

I decided to test my computer with heaven engine benchmark, it could handle that on the highest settings and like maybe 15 min in when changing transition I did get a spike of about 20 fps but I was expecting this seeing as my highest fps was 60.

I also monitored the temperature of my cpu and gpus to see if that was an issue and they were all running at suitable temperatures, cpu was never above 60 Celsius and gpus were ranging between 50 and 80 on heaven benchmark.

I thought maybe it's the game and reinstalled it, no change there.

Other issues being that one time my graphics drivers actually crashed when playing league of legends

All of these issues started when I decided to run the cards in sli and replaced my power supply and added the water cooling unit. I used to have the basic heat sink included with the processor and a 650w power supply which was bronze certificate.

Back in the day before I was running sli I would have no issues either.

Occasionally my screen will randomly flicker when on the desk top and not doing anything and windows trouble shooter doesn't detect an issue.

Solution
The game is likely just not working will with SLI, if it runs fine on a single card, do that. Or upgrade to a faster single card vs two slower ones.
