Hello. Like we know 3dmark was updated to Fire strike stress test mode. I bench using Fire Strike stress test ULTRA on my 980 Ti Gaming Xtreme and 6700k on stock. Result are normal.

My screen, take a look on cpu frequency ( 4 to 4,2 ghz ):

But cpu frequency during test is drifting between 4-4,2 ghz i dont know why. Is this normal?

Any ideas why i have different clock rating during test? ( 4.0 - 4.2 or 4.2 to 4.0 ).

Also cpuz reporting stable 4ghz , real temp reporting stable 4.2 ghz. Only futuremark stress test reporting drifting between 4.0 4.2 4.0 4.2 ghz. Is this normal? Thx

My mobo is Asus Z170-P.

CPU load will fluctuate a bit during a benchmark like that, especially because 3DMark is primarily a GPU benchmark, so I don't think it's unusual for frequency to bounce around a bit. Also, turbo frequencies depend on how many cores are being used; I believe you'll only hit 4.2 GHz on loads that use 1 (or maybe 2) cores.

Try running a CPU benchmark like Prime 95 (small FFT) or Cinebench. CPU frequency should be pretty consistent. If you run a single threaded test in Prime 95, it should stay right at 4.2 GHz.
