I was playing a game and my PC hanged ,so I restarted it only to find that sound is not working and the speaker icon looked like this

when I clicked on it a troubleshooting window opens and it says that it couldn't identify the problem , I tried to update my audio drives and checked the device manager and uninstalled the high definition audio controller (which came back again)

but the problem still persisted . Even dxdiag didn't seem detect any sound card

I even installed a new copy of windows 10 but had to same problem , do you guys think my
on-board sound card is broken ? my motherboard is msi h110m pro-vd btw.

Solution
Might want to try to disable in the UEFI, save changes, reboot. Next, re-enable again and see if that changes anything. Also, when you mention updating audio drivers, do you mean through device manager/windows update? If so, I'd get the ones direct from MSI's site. Looks like you should have Realtek HD audio drivers for your motherboard. It shouldn't just say High definition audio controller.
