Intel stock fan and heatsink question

I have a i3-3240 and was going to upgrade to i7-2600 (going with the non K version since I'm not planning on overclocking)

Since the i7 I'm picking up is used it doesn't come with a cooler. I wanted to pick up the standard stock coolers they usually come with but I can't find the ones they typically do come with.

I thought my i3 had the same stock cooler as the i7's come with but I heard the ones the i7's come with have more fins on the heatsink

Do you guys think something like this https://www.amazon.com/Intel-Cooling-Socket-1155-E97378/dp/B005UG4Q8Q would be sufficient for a non-overclocked i7-2600?

The standard intel coolers are the only ones I know for sure that will fit since the other coolers I've tried are usually obstructed by my RAM placement

Mainly going to be using the processor for gaming purposes

Yes, that one is OK too. Even the one from your i3 would work. But it would struggle to maintain proper temps at max load; the fan would always be at full RPM. Intel CPUs are very efficient today. Not like they used to be.

Thanks for the response.

Do you think it would be sufficient enough to cool a i7-2600 under full load? I'm hearing mixed reviews about the stock intel cooling.

Some people are saying it is in no way enough, some are saying its okay and will get the job done.

From personal experience my i3-3240 with the stock cooler does run a bit on the warm side but nothing dangerous, especially when I clean my computer of dust regularly.

Gotcha, thanks guys.

Just to make sure before I pick it up, this one would work right? https://www.amazon.com/Intel-Connector-Aluminum-Heatsink-Computer/dp/B00R6PZC7S/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1466289487&sr=8-7&keywords=copper+core+heatsink+intel

It has the copper core on it

If I recall correctly when I put it in, my current i3 cooler doesn't have the copper core
