I am buying a new computer and going to buy 16GB (8GBx2) DDR4/2400MHz Dual Channel Memory from GSKILL Ripjaws V.

People tell me different things and get me paranoid over the internet over what eats ram, what is good for most pcs. The popular amount is 16 Gigs for extra room, oppose to 8. My concern for is the multi-tasking I usually do. Sometimes I have a game on, itunes on for proper background music and Chrome minimized-- out of habit. At most, I'd have a voice chat program on for gaming. That all said, I worry about how much memory I'd be burning up.

For now, settling on 16 Gigs of Ram, but if I wanted to add more, like say 32 later on, any recommendation as to what kind to get to add to what I have?

Thank you.

Zaber.

You're never going to saturate 16GB of RAM whilst playing a game, listening to music in the background and have Chrome running in the background, unless you have a silly amount of tabs open. You shouldn't be concerned at all.

If you think you might need more RAM because you're worried about saturating 16GB, I'd get 32GB as one kit now so you don't run into any issues down the line. If you do choose to get 16GB now and add another 16GB later, get an identical kit at least.

Thank you very much. Hopefully i never will need 16 Gigs. I know it has nothing to do with speed but just juggling so i wanted to be sure. Someone once told me it was the other way around.
