I am temporarily using a monitor different from one that I normally use. I am using DVI for both monitors, and DVI has worked. I have an NVIDIA GeForce 980 Ti. And I was forced to change PCIe slots as a result of motherboard damage after shipping, the motherboard does recognize the Graphics Card. However I seem to be unable to launch games on this new monitor, most will just close without giving an error. The error that comes up usually tells me to update my driver, however the games worked just hours before on the same driver, and updating to the most recent driver had no effect.

Solution
The monitor has nothing to do with your games launching- it simply displays whatever your computer is doing. The obvious issue is the motherboard- which you say was damaged. Even if you were able to game before, the stress (heat) caused by gaming may have put it over the edge.
