Today when i entered a match in battlefield 4 i noticed that my gpu fans would get really loud for a second and then turn off and that repeated until i exited the game and forced my fan speed to 70% in msi afterburned and then set it back to auto mode , gpu hit 95 degrees at that point and its usual heavy load temperature is around 65 to 70. It never happened before and it didn't happen afterwards (everything is working fine now) but i'm still worried what may be the reason. I have gigabyte's G1 series r9 380x.

Solution
clean the card for dust accumulation...check whether fan flow is smooth enough...update to the latest drivers...
but i still say...isolated incident is not a mark of any permanent fault...if it happens randomly, thn u shd have sumthng to worry abt...cud have been in the process of thermal throttling...

This thing was not something regular, they were not spinning but just barely starting up ever 2-3 seconds, if i left them like that and stayed in the game gpu would have probably hit above 100 degrees celsius and go on until it would shut itself down to prevent damage. Currently it works fine on any stress test but that happened only once and im just wondering why because gpu doesn't just turn its fans off like that during high load

Its a new card, only 2 months old and it happened again but only during battlefield 4, probably because of that crazy mantle but as i see it i does not happen in any other game so there should be no problem, mantle has caused me all kinds of problems so that's the thing probably. If it happens again i will inform you.
