isn't this just MS making it hard to delete skype?

Not only can I not uninstall skype, but windows update is constantly trying to do an update for skype that fails every time but it keeps trying and slowing my computer. I truly hate Bill Gates for his roll in creating this net predator. MS bought skype, so they won't let you uninstall it. I mean, it's been running for 15 minutes now and no end in sight.

The issue is not because Skype is now owned by MS but something with your computer. Would you blame a pigeon because your car broke right after one flew over it? Just because A happened at the same time as B, does not mean that B caused A to happen.
You apparently have some corrupt or missing files. I don't use skype, but haven't tried to remove it either because I'm not having any of the problems you describe. I'd try opening an administrator command prompt and issuing this command: sfc /scannow . That will scan for and attempt to correct any missing or corrupt system files.

Good luck.

you can delete it, just not the way you're used to. see here for how to rid yourself of it. well at least until the next update when it will be put back for you to uninstall again!!

This is under Win 7 not 10, in 7 it's not an "app", they still used "programs" in 7 LOL

You can just download it and install it, it's not part of MS updates. Program been going downhill pretty strongly though, many complaints about it not working or being constantly changed for no apparent reason.

interesting. my apologies, never used it so did not know it was so bad.

last option then is to do a manual delete of the folder it is in and then remove and registry entries and services related to it manually. that's the last thing i can think of since it is just a win 7 program like the rest.
