Best option for safely cooling my CPU?

I've been back and forth with myself between getting a Corsair H115i closed loop water cooler, or a Noctua nh-d15. The price isn't what i'm worried about, neither is the performance because I know they both would get the job done. What I'm worried about is the small chance of the closed loop leaking. I plan on sinking as much as I can into my GPU and it would kill me if for some reason the H115i decided to leak. The one thing that's making me lean towards it is that, in my opinion, the Noctua is just hideous. I'm going for a sleek black and red color scheme with my build and it just sticks out, it's bulky, and the colors are awful. I've never done anything with water cooling before so maybe that's why I'm so skeptical. Is it worth the risk? or should I stick with air for now.

I've been building custom loops for a decade and bought several closed loop coolers and never had a leak. I don't consider it much of a danger, and I've never had a leak though I'm sure someone must have. In relative terms I've caused more damage to my computers by being a klutz than a cooling loop has ever caused.

I just consider the cool, quiet operation of a loop to be standard now, I'll never go back to air for myself.

I really do want to do the closed loop system and I'm sure the chances of a leak are pretty small, I suppose I should either go big or go home. This is only my 2nd build but it's the first that I've been able to do completely on my own. I'm even dedicating an entire room in my house to it. My own personal nerd cave.

Intel Core i7-6700K is the CPU I know there are probably cheaper CPUs that will get the job done. I'm still learning with custom builds. I'm looking for a high end build though so after watching some videos comparing different CPUs this one seemed to be pretty good, especially since the only one that beat it as far as Intel goes was the i7 5930k which is more expensive.

as for the mobo I keep changing my mind, currently I've landed on MSI Z170A GAMING M7.

Overclocking isn't something I've done yet, my first build was a simple gaming build with a stock cooler for the cpu so overclocking wasn't exactly an option. I would like to do it I just have to do my research.

With your CPU the EVO would be good to probably 4.6 maybe 4.7 anyway and at about $30 a good price for experimaenting, then depnding on how bad you get the OC bug and once you see the capabilities of your individual CPU you could look to investing more in a AIO closed loop or putting together a custom loop ;)

Pardon the following stupid question...what do you mean by the EVO?

My bad sorry, the Hyper 212 EVO, had another thread open where it was involved. It's a great cooler as is the H7 from Cryorig, which cool rather well and are great. Also good as an approach into OCing, because till you start, there's no telling how an individual CPU will OC, might have a stinker that can't get past 4.2 or 4.3 or may hit the lottery with one that will go 4.8 or better ;)

Since you have heard of them leaking, do you think it's worth the risk? because the visual appeal of it is hard to pass up, but if it really isn't worth it there's no way I'll go for it.

By a couple I've seen like 1 in a 100 leak, and that was usually cause it was manhandled. I.e. overtightend or cables bent. They still perform really well, but I've found a lot of them to last around 5 years or so and then eventually the pump goes. With an air cooler I've yet to see a fan fail, and if it does it's an easy fix. If the pump dies, you need to replace the whole unit.

So apart front the 212 evo are there any more attractive yet well made air coolers? The case I'm getting has a nice big window and I want to be able to enjoy the look of my computer so the heatsink kind of makes it less sleek. Also I'm not sure how to tell if the fan will fit without blocking anything
