So a very long story short, i recently purchased a new SSD ( pny to be exact) and i notice that whenever i skype, or record a video, it'll be ok for a few seconds then lag horribly for a few seconds, and this is on and off the whole time. the following are things i've considered or noted :

1. The audio is perfect, no studder not garbled unaudible sentences.

2. My internet connection is 100/100, so thats not the problem either ( and would have no affect on internal recording)

3. My webcam doesn't appear to be dying as i tried it on my laptop and 0 issue arose.

4. Caching is disable and enable and no change occured.

can anyone point in me in some kind of direction?

Specs for the record:

AMD FX 8350 ( 8-core)

Radeon R9 390

Gigabyte 990FXA

and the SSD in question

PNY PNY CS1311 2.5" 120GB SATA III TLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SSD7CS1311-120-RB

any input would be appreciated!

Your Internet connection can be fine at your end and still ping rates or lags can occur.
Have you done a speed test and checked your ping for packet losses?
You should also check with your ISP regarding your plan to make sure you are getting what you paid for.
Only other thing I can think off is the INC on the MB.

When you mean video recording, are you talking about in game video game play capture.
Or mostly using skype ect.

When you buy an SSD it is always important to take note of the read and write speeds of it.
Cheaper SSD drives come with a lack of secondary buffer cache used in conjunction with the flash memory of the SSD for such situations.

You will also find with cheaper ssd drives that there is a great difference in speed when it comes to reading and writing of files or for example saving video files to them, depending on the quality and format and resolution of the encoded video capture stream.

If you look at a Samsung SSD drive for example it should state it has a cache bank of memory, and if you look at drives that are of the same capacity in storage that are cheaper you will no cache is provided in some cases along with the lower right speed over it`s read speed.

Even with an SSD drive to avoid a potential lag a SSD drive with added cache bank helps to prevent any lagging when doing such things as video encoding.

Especially when the cpu of the system is doing more than one task at a time, even if it does have or is running eight cpu cores.

Main system memory is also important when doing such things as video capture and encoding lolcatzuru, more is always better to avoid any lag when video capturing or encoding to avoid low system memory resources.

Obviously make sure the outputted video stream is being saved to the SSD drive and not a mechanical drive.
