Hello guys,

I need some suggestion here because I'm having problem with my mobo. Let me tell the background story a little bit:

I'm using asus H97i-Plus, suddenly view days ago I can't get into bios page (black screen). From googling on the internet looks like the only solution is resetting cmos, so I did it. Then I get to bios homepage, but no response on keyboard F2 and Del. The suspect was usb keyboard not supported so I tried with ps2 keyboard but still same (I did take out all usb connections btw). So I push my luck with taking off hdd & vga sata cable from the mobo, and voila....I have keyboard access. So I updated and reset the bios setting, and everything back to normal.

Now, every time I turn off the compu power the bios is resetting back to default. Again, suspect was dead cmos battery, so I change with new one (checked the voltage too), but problem still occur till now. This didn't happening when I restart or turn off the compu for a while, only when it goes off for some period of time. I check the pin connector on the battery slot and it is good. This is quiet new computer, I built it on March so all hardware should be in good condition.

Did you perform this procedures: remove bios battery then change jumper to pin2 or disable, then reinsert the battery then change jumper to normal. If the bios could not save the settings even the battery is good and always to back to factory default once it totally off, this could be there are problem of the mobo. So might be you need to reflash the BIOS ic.

Update: I recheck the battery again and turn out it was in a wrong side position (H97i-Plus has vertical battery slot). So, I hope this will solve the problem.

Thanks Combinebasic for your feedback.
