The download from Microsoft is retail, your key will not work with it. OEM requires that you obtain your media from the computer manufacturer, or whomever supplied the original media.
Microsoft only allows the retail versions of windows to be downloaded by ordinary users and requires a valid retail key to be entered before the download starts
Hi thanks for replying. I don't have a windows product key so i can't download the iso from microsoft but if i had a product key for that windows would i be able to use the key on any windows 7 64 bit sp1 or is the key only for the specific disc given with the code?

Any Win 7 'download' that does not come direct from Microsoft is suspect.
Thanks i do understand that but if i did have a windows 7 disc but it was damaged would i be able to use my licence key for the damaged disc on a downloaded windows if it was the same version as my original or is the product key that comes with the disc only for that disc only?

Yes i do have a key but it is from a MAR edition i bought from Amazon so when i try to use it on microsoft it tells me it is already pre installed on a system so i cannot use it. I am just trying to find out if i download an iso the same version as i had on disc would i be able to use my key?
