Hey guys,

I am very new in terms of upgrading PCs and finally told myself that I want to take my PC gaming to the next level (sort of). My current PC specs are terrible. I am wondering if upgrading a part or two will boost fps by a lot or if I should just buy a completely new PC. If I need to buy parts, my current budget is around $150. If I need to buy a new PC, I would really appreciate it if someone knows any good budget PC builds I can buy and build. Thank you!

Specs:
System Manufacturer: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC.
Processor: AMD A8-6500 APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics (4 CPUs), ~3.5GHz
Memory: 6144MB RAM
Card name: AMD Radeon HD 8570D (Integrated :()
Windows 8.1 64

DXDIAG: https://www.dropbox.com/s/zyp52bpa020n6tp/DxDiag.txt?dl=0

Any help is appreciated.

Your CPU is still pretty nice though it can't OC which means it won't be drawing much over it's rated 65 watts. Even generic HPs with an open PCIe and a generic 300 watt have a good chance of supporting a non-OCed 950 perfectly stable. At your budget i'd even try the fast falling priced GTX 960 with your current PSU and return the card if it fails.
Your Dxdiag link is more than a little dodgy, please either remove it or update it.

The current A8 isn't a fire breathing monster but it's capable enough.

The memory is a little odd, but you won't see any big improvements by upgrading, that said an 8Gb (2x4Gb modules) kit isn't exactly expensive either, Newegg has a good number of them for <>$30 (USA). Check the motherboard specs carefully to be sure it'll support the new memory speed and voltage before making a purchase, though.

Without any shadow of a doubt the lack of any video card is your main holdup but any upgrade may be limited by the power supply, so we need details of that before we can make any useful suggestions.

Thank you for your detailed response! I have updated my dxdiag link. It did look dodgy  I understand that my video card is holding me back. I searched online and think a GTX 750 suits me well because it is under my budget and is somewhat powerful. What do you think? I just discovered that my power supply can output 300W :pfff: I think I need a new power supply too.

The GTX 950 is about 40%+ faster overall with less power draw and, depending where you live, not much more money than a 750. Power wise, you could always try your PSU and see if it runs stable. Buds at the local shop have run 780TI SLI setups off generic 450 rated PSUs just for kicks and were stable- it's somewhat luck on that with no-names. Also, the 950 is fine for all future 4K for videos and browsing and even basic gaming.

Thanks for your reply. I definitely need to upgrade my PSU. I was thinking of purchasing EVGA 500b PSU. I can buy the gtx 950 but where I live, it goes for the price of around $160 which is all of the money I currently have :( (I need 40 for the PSU). For the 750, I can purchase them for around $60-100.
