Hello,
I am finally able to complete my server build with only a few more components and I just wanted to get some advice before spending the money.

I own a Xeon e5-2690 v1, as well as some samsung and dataram 16gb ram sticks, all 240 pin 1600 MHz.

I am going to be using this rig for my home server, music production, and some light gaming so I chose this motherboard because it has built-in audio and plenty of USB ports.

Basically I just need a quick check to make sure there isn't something I am missing compatibility-wise. The ram isn't on the mobo approved list, but I'm unclear as to how much variability there is outside of size and clock speed. It is ECC ram.

Thanks a lot,

Sorry, that was a quote form newegg reviews, but I forgot the quote part. I imagine they had issues with the heat sink mounting holes being in abnormal spots. The holes are meant for low profile heat sinks that are passively cooled in a rack mount server chassis.

jbaker22,
The ram is buffered ddr3. If the board comes with outdated bios, I will at least be able to post and flash to current version since I am using the old V1 e5-2690. I also have an Nvidia Quaddro 600 laying around so I'm ok without the video outputs on the board. Could you elaborate on the heatsink issue? Thanks a lot for your response.
