currently i have i7-3770 with this mobo can i upgrade it since the socket is the same? or the because the chipset on the mobo is z77 series it wont work? and what happens if i attached it to this mobo will the cpu gets damaged? and yes i heard ddr3 isnt compatible with the 6th generations model and it might damage the cpu since DDR3 uses more voltage than DDR4.

Thanks!

PLUS will i7 3770 bottleneck Nvidia GTX 1080?

Solution
No no no, it's not the same socket.
2nd and 3rd gen of intel processors use socket lga1155, while 6th gen use socket lga1151. It won't fit no matter what you try.

i7 3770 won't bottleneck a gtx1080, except you use multi gpu configuration/SLI. That's still a good processor, though.
