hey y'all, i have my fx 8320 running at 5 ghz @1.488v... My temps under stress testing are a max of 61 for mobo socket and 54 for 55 for socket. (once stress testing this is where temps stabilize at their max). When gaming core temp average is 40c while mobo socket is 50.

Im looking at keeping this cpu for 5< more years. Will it last with this oc? i put on less than 500hrs a year on my pc.

Looking for an answer from someone who has had their cpu oc for a long time....

Thanks in advanced!!!.

If your asking if the cpu will last for five years overclocked to 5Ghz.

It`s any ones guess as to if it will last.

Your running the cpu in frequency way past it`s factory default speed settings.
And when you do that your putting the cpu under a lot more stress.

The only test is time, because due to overclocking an the stress of it cpu degrade slightly more quickly.
Look up electronic migration of cpu integrated circuits or paths.

It will explain the effect of what over clocking eventually does to integrated circuit pathways and there ability to hold signals passing down them.
