I am starting to make a computer and was wondering if the GeForce GTX 980 Ti will work with the Z170I PRO GAMING motherboard? If it does not, what good gaming graphics card works with it?

Solution
I suggest waiting for a GTX1070 to become available (and for price gouging to stop).

Should stabilize about $430USD for the cheaper cards.

There are several improvements including asynchronous optimizations which will benefit future DX12 titles. Even if it doesn't add much FPS it can significantly improve STUTTERING in some cases (lack of preemption/asynchronous buffering causes stuttering in many current titles.).

Newer cards have VR optimizations, and GTX1070/1080 have a cool thing called Ansel which can take 2D or 3D snapshots in future, supported games.

Other stuff: HEVC, HDR, higher bandwidth improvements, lower power (may not care but it also means room temperature is lower)

The only other cards I recommend depend on your budget:
a) GTX1080 (up to about 25% faster than GTX1070 depending on program)
or
b) R9-480X (8GB version) which probably will end up about $260USD once prices stabilize. Should be about same performance as GTX980.

Yes, it will work. GTX 980 Ti needs PCIe 3.0 x16 motherboard has it.1 x PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16.

As suggested by other forum members, I think its better to look up for theGTX 10 series,
