I

First and foremost; thank you for your prompt response! As for 'why': After using OE for as long as I did, I've become comfortable and familiar enough with it, that I'd just as soon not have to migrate to another email client. That and having my 32-bit XP notebook 'die' and having no other tenable hardware option but to 'adopt' an old 64-bit notebook running Windows 7. I used Thunderbird a number of years ago... Found it to be a fairly easy-to-use and fairly understandable email client but due to overall familiarity, decided to revert to OE not too long afterwards. Choices, choices, choices... Will consider your counsel and make my choice accordingly.
Thanks again for your prompt and cogent response. Very much appreciated, Sir!

I have searched for a long time for a suitable email client to replace OE in Win7/8/10.
After reading several reviews of the limited choices available, none seem as good as OE !
Thunderbird as suggested certainly does not attract good reviews now.
So, thanks to runasxp.com for win7/8/10 OE, a welcome return of an old reliable friend !

Old? Yes.
Reliable? Not really.
Be careful with this product as it is quite dated and likely full of security holes.

If it works for you, just know it hasn't been updated in many moons.

Thanks for your advice, I shall use with caution. I suppose its just my age ! But at least I am trying Win7/8, having been around SCO unix and Windows since 3.1, though not into 10 yet.

Understood. My experience pre-dates Win 3.1 and SCO Unix (and used both of them). Change can take some adjustment. Took a while to get my father-in-law off of XP and OE (when he used it) and on to others. Now, he is 80, running Win 10 and Thunderbird like a champ. He even used Win 8.x (something I chose to not use).

OE was clean and simple. However, it really was not secure, even when it was getting updates.
