Hi guys,I am planning to build a gaming PC that is $1400 and I pick out these component, but I am not hundred percent sure with all these part if they're right or compatible?I am also going to overclock.

Computer Spec
Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core
H100i 77.0 CFM Liquid
Z97 EXTREME6 ATX LGA1150
HyperX Fury White 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1866
Sandisk 240GB SSD
Western Digital 1TB 7200RPM
GeForce GTX 980 4GB WINDFORCE 3X
Carbide 400C ATX Mid Tower
500W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX

Solution
Much better build with a faster CPU and GPU in the 1070 and the i7 6700k.
Kept with your case as I didn't want to change a personal preference, and swapped out the power supply for something that is of higher quality. (Assuming since you have just listed "500W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX")
Have also added an AIO liquid cooler to achieve better overclocks and consistent temps under load.

Honorable
It's a new build so don't get 4th gen.
Get 6th gen.
Also swapped the PSU and GPU for a better one, the others are up to your preference.
Motherboard is also a better overclocker.
