I am trying to install my windows 7 ultimate 64bit on my desktop yet when reformating is finished it appears as 32bit.

How is this possible and what is causing this error???

I heard converting the drive from MBR to GPT works but I am uncertain.

Also my desktop can indeed run 64 bit as I was reformating from a 64bit system.

Hello... I have not done that yet... because I never buy that large of a drive for a Boot drive to have too... repost a new op with those exact words B ) a lot of good people here.
You could "Pre-format " on another Computer with Windows... that how I would TRY to do it... use another computer OS.

How big is the drive?'... I have a "clean install" x64 procedure if ya wanna try... other wize try that post... for GPT

My apologies I am on a laptop now and when using mobile I was unable to reply to your message.

As I said in the private message, I had installed 64bit OS windows 7 ultimate, and then installed all of my chip set drivers and then moved onto other programs. However when installing winrar64x version I could not and noticed that my entire OS had installed as 32 bit.

I had reformatted again to no avail and noticed it was once again 32 bit. You asked for my device manager and here it is currently http://tinypic.com/r/2wno4dt/9

Well I have read some people have had this issue before, and this one guy managed to fix it by converting his hard drive from a MBR to a GPT. Then installing the OS via UEFI. I don't pretend to understand why this worked for him but It might work for me.

Do you know to how to do this conversion?

Alright I'll try that out, one more question. So you have never heard of that issue where a reformatting using a 64x windows 7 disk somehow causes the system to become 32 bit. Even the tiniest possible reason for that happening could help. Or if I'm not clear maybe allow myself to try to explain what the problem is in further detail.
